BRADWORTHY PRIMARY ACADEMY

Class Five Walking

On Tuesday this week, the second half of Class Five did their first training walk at Castle Drogo in preparation for their big walk from Duckpool to Widemouth later in the Spring Term.

This week, we decided to walk the route in the opposite direction to the previous group which seemed like a good choice at first with the first 3 miles being pretty much all downhill. However, when we reached Fingle Bridge and started climbing the mini-mountain back up to the top of the valley, we did start questioning our choice of direction.

All children did exceptionally well using their maps to navigate the route and walking well as a team to make sure nobody was left behind. We had some very red faces at the top of the big climb and several tired legs by the time we got back to the buses but 4.5miles of walking with over 600ft of elevation in under 2 hours 30 minutes is pretty good going.

Well done all!
