Exeter Year 3 and 4 Football World Cup

On Wednesday the 13th of July Sarah and I had the privilege of taking 8 players and some very keen and incredibly supportive parents/grand-parents down to Exeter for a year 3 and 4 Football Tournament.

Games were 6-aside, 10 minute matches.

Each school was given a World Cup country to represent, we must've drew the short straw as we ended up representing Wales.

Top three of the group went into the cup, 4-6  went into the plate. We finished 2nd place in our group stage, 6 games were played, we won four matches and lost two.

In the cruellest of scenarios we were eliminated on penalties in the quarter finals of the cup after a very late equaliser. To make matters worse, the two teams who went on and won the cup final and plate final we beat 1-0 and 5-0 in the group stage! I strongly believe we played the best football there and the free flowing, high scoring matches in the group stage against some massive Exeter and South Devon schools showed this.
