Firing
Philip Leech came in to our school to teach us how to do sawdust firing.
He is a famous potter in North Devon and he came in to our school to show us how to make a sawdust kiln.
First we put sawdust in the bottom of the metal bin, then we put the pots on top of the sawdust. We kept repeating this over and over again until it got to the top of the metal bin, then we put some Newspaper and sticks in. We used matches to light the fire.
The next day we went out side to see if our pots were done. The top of the bin was done but the bottom was not. We try to light it again but it did not work at first.
We have had fun and we have learned a lot with Phillip.
