Macmillan Bake Off & Coffee Morning
Macmillan Coffee Morning
On Friday 13th October we held a coffee morning and ‘Bake Off’ competition in school, to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Research. Everyone had the opportunity to enter cakes and sweet treats into a range of categories, with the entries, and other donated cakes, being sold in a cake sale and coffee morning to help raise money. The donations were absolutely amazing this year, and we would like to say an enormous thank you to everyone who baked a cake or made a donation to our coffee morning, with a special thanks to Teena Cann for organising the event.
The winners of each class were:
Best Citrus Cake – Alexander Girdler
Best Chocolate Cake – Thomas Polhill
Best Free-From Cake – Minnie Downing
Best Biscuits – Alissia Davis
Best Fruit & Veg Cake – Lily Gardner
Best Showstopper – Erin Jowett
Star Baker 2017 – Brooke Blake
The judges were blown away by every entry that was received, and found the judging process to be very difficult – although very tasty!
Our final fundraising total was a whopping £376.80, and we would like to say an enormous thank you to everyone for such wonderful generosity!
