BRADWORTHY PRIMARY ACADEMY

Class 2 at Julians's Farm

On November 19th class 2 visited Juluan's Farm to learn about our local environment and habitats.
We were really lucky to hear from a local vet all about cows and how they process their food through each of their four stomachs to make the poo which goes on to help the grass grow. We looked at grass, hay and straw and learned about how it grows and how it is used on a farm. We even had time to visit the calves and fed them our grass.
In the morning we also planted conkers and hope to visit the farm again in the Spring to plant them out.

In the afternoon we went for a walk through the fields along the river Torridge. Everyone had sheets they used to note what they had seen. We learned about all the different animals that live there along the river and in the culm land.
We all had a fantastic day and would like to thank Jenny and Andrew for showing us around their farm.
