BRADWORTHY PRIMARY ACADEMY

Divali

As part of the schools promotion of religous and cultural festivals, our school have been learning about Divali.

This culminated in a Divali celebration assembly where each class had the chance to show some of their work from the week.

As well as learning about Hinduism and the Festival of Lights and the story of Rama and Sita, each class worked on a variety of activities throughout the week.

These ranged from making rangoli patterns, learning a dance, singing a song, making sweets and writing stories.

For the assembly each class was asked to show something different.

Reception class had drawn pictures based on the story of Rama and Sita.

Class 1 had made radical Rangoli patterns.

Class 2 had made awesome Airavats(Elephants).

Class 3 had some perfectly painted rangoli patterns.

Class 4 read out some of their perfect picture books retelling the story of Rama and Sita .

Class 5 performed a dynamic Divali song.

Class 6 read out an amazing alternative version of the Rama and Sita story.

The assembly also included a whole school dance that was based on getting the house ready for Divali.

After the assembly class 4 had the chance to read their stories to their book buddies from class 1.

Well done to everybody who has worked so hard this week.
