BRADWORTHY PRIMARY ACADEMY

North Devon Cricket Festival

Gale force winds were waiting for us when we arrived at the North Devon Cricket Club at Instow on Thursday afternoon but despite the terrible weather we had a great time. There were twenty schools at the festival which was a record and we were really please with our effort which took us to fourth place.

Our only defeat of the afternoon came against Newport School from Barnstaple who went on to win the competition. The match was close and one of those where the catches don't quite go to hand and the run outs don't quite come off - however their batting was just a bit too strong and I think that the better team won.

Our final match was against Witheridge School who had beaten our under ten side last week and we were delighted to get some revenge with a ten run victory.
The mach could have gone either way as we got into the last couple of overs but our final batting pair were able to pull away with a excellent over of defence and then a couple of fours in the last over.
