North Devon School’s Gymnastics Competition

On March 25th we took over 40 gymnasts to the North Devon School’s Gymnastics Competition in Barnstaple.  Over the course of the day our pupils competed in front of an enormous audience, with floor routines, and vaults.  These performances were fantastic, and led to our most successful competition to date, and a very full trophy cabinet!

There were Gold team medals for our Under 7 Novice Boys, and our Under 7 Intermediate Girls.  Silver team medals were awarded to our Under 9 Intermediate Mixed team, and our Under 11 Intermediate Girls and Mixed teams.   Along with this haul of trophies came a huge number of individual awards.  Ewan Shadrick was awarded an individual Gold medal, with Toby Cleave, Josh Lui, and Isla Hayes all receiving silver medals for their individual performances. Finley Shadrick, Harvey Dack and May Francis added to our individual medal count with their Bronze awards.

In addition to these amazing results, we were incredibly proud to see Lucy Baker and Lacey Osborne receiving ‘Musical Interpretation’ awards for their routines, while Harvey Dack was awarded the ‘Endeavour’ award for his performance.

It goes without saying that we are all incredibly proud of these children.  They have worked so hard to achieve these amazing results and should be very proud of their successes.  We must also say an enormous thank you to our amazing coaches, Kerry, Sarah, Aaron and Claire, whose hard work and enthusiasm means that our children get to take part in such amazing experiences.
