BRADWORTHY PRIMARY ACADEMY

Plastic Free Schools

Class 4 had an assembly to introduce ‘Plastic Free Schools’.

We are working with Surfers against Sewage to gain plastic free status for our school. This is not as scary as it sounds! We are aiming to have a boycott day on Tuesday 27th February. On this day we are asking the whole school to boycott Single use plastic bottles and bring in a reusable plastic/metal drinks bottle. We will have recycling points for your single use bottles. The children will also be running some activities during the day to educate the school about the damage single use plastic is causing in our oceans.

This is the first of a few actions we have to take in school before we get accredited as a Plastic Free School. Class 4 have worked really hard getting their plans together for school and have made a passionate plea to the whole school during their whole school assembly to join ‘The Resistance’ and fight the tide of plastic.

Exciting times ahead!
