Year Two At Okehampton Castle

Class 2 have been learning about Motte and Bailey Castles this week and had a fantastic day out at Okehampton Castle. In the morning they enjoyed exploring the ruins and were thrilled to find the ‘garderobe’ (castle toilet). Everyone had chance to climb to the top of the motte and walk around the keep, the highest point of the castle. We then had a picnic lunch at the base of the castle. In the afternoon everyone had chance to try on some items of medieval style clothing... the swords were very popular!! We finished the day playing bubble games in the meadow to burn off some energy before heading back to school.
