  • Year Four Lee Valley 2024 Day 3

Fri 26 Apr 2024 Nick Lapham

    Good morning everyone.

The children all slept really well again - recharged for their final day on residential.

We've had our breakfast, left the YHA Lee Valley and driven across to Legoland. The weather here is great today and the children are having the best time enjoying the rides.

I'll try to add some pictures during the day.

Travel update, just leaving Taunton services, hit some hard traffic in the Bristol area, due to be back for 8pm.

  • Year Four Lee Valley Residential Day 2

Thu 25 Apr 2024 Nick Lapham

    Morning

All the children slept really well last night.

At the moment, they are getting ready to go for breakfast and straight after that we will be going to Harry Potter World where we have a creative writing lesson booked for 10:30am.

    Mr L

    Thursday 25/04 5pm

We've had the best time at Harry Potter World today.

It was a little busier than we anticipated it to be but the children did themselves proud with their behaviour and respect for the public with several compliments throughout the day about their fantastic manners.

We are having tea at 5:30pm and then it's straight off to Quasar for Laser Quest and the Gamers Cage.

I've just spent the last half hour trying to get some pictures of the day on the website but unfortunately the quality of our Internet connection here at the hostel isn't good enough to let me complete the upload so I'll try again at Quasar.

    Thursday 25/04 - 10:15pm

Quasar was great fun this evening with all the children (and staff) enjoying their sessions in the laser tag arena and the gamers cage.

We haven't long been back at the hostel but the children are all tucked up in bed and drifting off to sleep as I write this.

If you haven't already. Please check out the pictures of all today's fun.

We've got a fairly early start in the morning to make sure we are at Legoland for their opening time of 10am. We will be buying the children dinner at one of the restaurants in the park during our visit and departing for our journey home at around 3pm. Fingers crossed the weather is kind to us 🤞.

Please keep your eye on here tomorrow evening as we will update this page if we are expecting to be delayed. If all goes to plan, we should be back in Bradworthy by 7:15pm.

  • Year Four Lee Valley Residential 2024

Wed 24 Apr 2024 Nick Lapham

    Hello everyone.

We are having a great day here at Longleat and all the children are having a fab time.

We arrived just before midday and headed straight for the boat tour. The children really enjoyed seeing the sea lions, monkeys and gorillas on the ferry. I'll add some pictures of this later.

After the boat tour, we had a quick stop for some lunch and then went to the safari. Thankfully, we avoided the monkeys so all the busses are still in one piece.

As I write this, the children are currently having a 20 minute play in the park before we load up and head off to AirHop.

I'll update again later with some pictures when I have a better internet connection.

    Mr L

    Wednesday 6:20PM

The children are all having a wonderful time in AirHop at the moment.

We'll be having tea here when they finish their session at 7pm and will then be driving to the hostel at Lee Valley. Hopefully the children will all be worn out by then after their busy day and ready for bed.

    Wednesday 10:15pm

    Evening.

We have arrived at YHA Lee Valley and all the children are tucked up in bed asleep excited for a their day at Harry Potter World tomorrow.

  • Reception at the Dinosaur Park

    Tue 26 Mar 2024 Rose

The reception class have had an amazing visit to the wildlife and dinosaur park today. They were completely enthralled with the whole day, and have been a delight to take out.
We have added some photos today of our adventures and we will add comments from the children tomorrow.

  • Cricket Engagement Day

Thu 14 Mar 2024 Elliot Lewis

On Monday the 11th of March we had Martin Brice in from Devon Cricket.

Martin ran 45 minute sessions with all of the children in classes 2-6, lots of fun was had with the children working on multiple skills including catching, throwing, bowling, batting, fielding and more. Some of the older children played match based games such as speed cricket and jailbreak, we even managed to get out onto the field which Martin tells me was the first time this year he'd ran cricket on grass!

We pass on our thanks to Martin for coming in to engage our children with the wonderful sport of cricket, the children had a great time.

  • EFL County Finals Football Qualifier

Mon 27 Nov 2023 Elliot Lewis

On Thursday 16th of November we travelled down to Exeter to take part in a 11 team round robin to qualify for the County Finals in January.

Coming up against some of the best and biggest schools in Devon, mainly Exeter based schools, we more than held our own, registering five wins, three losses and two draws, our games ended with us in a fourth place finish, top eight qualify for the finals so we finished comfortably, a strong finish to the day with three wins in a row in the afternoon solidified the event.

I am really proud of the team and their efforts, everybody played really well throughout the day, a special mention to Zachary, Ryan, Edward and Robert who up until now hadn't played for the school team but fully deserved to be in the team and played excellently against a very high standard.

We are really looking forward to returning in January for the next round, well done guys!
