Our climbing club went over to Pilton College on Thursday evening to train on their boldering wall.
Our Year Six climbers were joined by several ex-pupils, who come to our Youth Group, and who will be joining us at the next county boldering competition which is due to take place at Dartrock in Buckfastleigh in December.
This is our cross country running team at the start of a three mile training run around the Tamar Lakes last Friday.
We're going to be training a lot more seriously this year and this is going to involve going out each week to run in places which are much more demanding than our school grounds.
If only the adults were as fit as the children !!!
Our Harvest Festival will be in the village church on Friday 21st October.
As well as learning songs and things like that we're building with withies which we grew, and cut, in our school garden.
If you want to know what we're building you'll have to come along !!!
Our Gardening Group spent last Thursday at Bridge Mill in Bridgerule.
We found out how to set up a raised vegetable plot, about crop rotation and ponds.
We're going to use all of the things we found out to help us develop our school garden.
The children in Year Six are spending the next two weeks taking part in Bikeability Training which involves learning to be safe on the roads.
This is a vitally important life skill and it's great that we are able to take part each year.
The children practice their skills on the playground before heading off on to the roads.
We took advantage of the great weather last week to go outside and build some fires so that we could cook Pottage.
Pottage is a vegetable stew which is thickened with oats. It was the staple diet for poor people in the country side for a thousand years.
Our Pottage was a bit bland but we agreed that we could probably survive on it quite well if we had to !!!
We took part in our first ever climbing competiton down at Dartrock last Friday evening.
We entered boys' and girls' teams and they both won !

Our first friendly football fixture was against Shebbear College.
The result was a 3 - 3 draw with goals from Oscar, Josh and Adam. We're looking forward to our next match and our first win.
We've been back down to Budethis half term to Surf at Crooklets Beach.
Our surf club runs every Friday and up to now the sea has been warm and the waves a good size. We've having a great time !!!
