  • Easter Service 2013

    Sun 31 Mar 2013
Our religious education program is based on the festivals that the World's different religions celebrate each year.
In addition to the things that we did in school we also went down to the village church for an Easter Service this week.
  • Class Four Museum

    Fri 29 Mar 2013

As part of their topic this term, class 4 researched, planned and organised a class museum.

The museum was a mixture of real and made artefacts, fun games and activities including a live Anderson shelter experience. In total we had over 140 impressed visitors throughout the day.
Mr Lewis was really proud of his class and the effort they made, however the biggest compliment of all was given by the children in Year Six who said what an amazing museum it was and how brilliant the Year Four curators were.

  • Futsul

    Thu 28 Mar 2013
We took a team of boys and girls from Years Three and Four over to Bideford College just before Easter to play in a Futsul Competition.
Futsul is like football except that you have to use a heavy ball which stays on the ground. It's a good way of developing ball skills.
We played five games, winning four of them, and losing 2-1 in the final to Ilfracombe.
  • Football - Spring 2013

    Mon 25 Mar 2013
We took three teams to Sandymere just before Easter to play in a tournament against schools from the Bideford area.
We had a team in each of the A, B and C team leagues and it was brilliant that a group of our younger children were able to take part and represent the school for the first time.
Our A-Team had a great afternoon, winning five of their six matches and drawing the other.
    Everyone had a great time.
  • Class One - Easter 2013

    Wed 20 Mar 2013
Year One have been exploring their sense of taste.
Is it bitter, sour, salty or sweet?
We visited Blackberry Farm to make chocolate Easter nests and learn about all the lovely animals.
Back in School we hunted for Easter eggs then drew our designs on the playground.
We dressed as African animals (after explaining that tigers are not African!)
  • Class 2 - Bridge Mill 2013

    Wed 20 Mar 2013
Last week class 2 visited The Bridge Mill at Bridgerule.
Rosie talked to the children about Spring, baby animals and animal homes.
We fed the call ducks, and then walked around the farm trying to spot animal homes.
  • Cross Country Champions

    Fri 15 Mar 2013
Our Cross Country Running teams have been in action in Bideford and Holsworthy this week.
Nearly fifty children (a third of the school) were involved.

The Bideford competition took place at Kingsley College and for the first time in a few years we won a team medal when our Year Three Girls' team won Silver.
All five girls finished in the top sixteen with Maddy finishing second.

Our school team (twenty four runners from Years Three to Six) had a fantastic result when they finished in first place out of nine schools at this year's event at Holsworthy College.
In their Under Nines competition Maddy was first, Maya second and Alicia fourth.
Other top ten runners included Josh (second) and Jaden (fifth) in the Under Eleven Race, and Ethan (third) in the boys Under Nine event.
  • Red Nose 2013

    Mon 11 Mar 2013

One of the best Red Nose days ever.

Friday 15th March was an exciting day for everyone. It was filled with laughter, happiness and also LOTS of craziness!

That time of year has passed us again. Bradworthy Primary Academy is a brilliant school for fundraising. This year we broke the record for raising the most money our school has ever made, nearly £1000!!

It was an enjoyable day and the School was filled with fun.

Cakes, non School uniform, games, just all round excitement. Not a person in the School was calm. All the effort put in to make the cakes paid off and we all enjoyed them SO much.

Just with the non School uniform we raised over £150. Princesses turned up at the School, looking beautiful as ever. Sleepy heads didn't even bother getting dressed, they turned up in their pyjamas and dressing gowns!!

Dancing was the main event of the day! Crazy jumping, turning and throwing themselves around Class 5. It was utter mayhem. All trying to get a chocolate Easter Egg.

In the end, to decide the winner, everyone had to scream and shout into a sound machine, and funnily enough the 3 that were left all had the same score of 110 decibels, but we think that was the machines highest sound.

    Over all a brilliant day!!!!!!!!!

  • Netball Results

    Sun 10 Mar 2013
Our netball team have been really busy over the last couple of weeks, representing the school in the North Devon Area Finals and taking part in several league and friendly matches.
We're really proud of all of the children, especially those in the B-Team who have been playing for only a very short period of time.
These photos were taken at Stratton where our A-team won 6 - 0 and our B-Team lost 4 - 3.
  • Zoolab 2013

    Sat 09 Mar 2013
Zoolab brought lots of amazing animals in to school this week.
The children in KS1 got the chance to find out about animals like snakes and rats.
This sounds a bit frightening but it was great fun !
