On Monday the 22nd and Tuesday the 23rd of May children from years 5 and 6 and children from year 4 travelled to Great Torrington to take part in two Rounders events.
Year 5 and 6 played a competitive competition against 6 other schools, the morning was very successful, the team registered 5 wins and a draw which was enough to see us finish overall winners of the tournament.
Year 4 took part in some Rounders themed games, then played friendlies against 5 other schools in a non tournament format, they won 3 and lost two in a very enjoyable morning.
Well done teams!
It was great to get the children in Year Six back to the Wakepark this week, to extend their wakeboarding sessions which began in September and October. Everyone did brilliantly, and it was amazing to see so many of the children doing so well on Wakeboards by the end of the session. As you can see from the pictures, everyone enjoyed getting back to the lake, and we are already looking forward to the next session!
The children in Years 2, 3 and 4 were treated with a visit from Rob Pudner from Entertainingly Different. Rob visited school as part of the Bude Literary Festival. He talked about how his love of books is caught up in memories of his childhood and his family. We were entertained with excerpts from some of his favourite books and had fun with rhymes, games and even a Superworm Rap!
We have been lucky enough to hire a set of P-Bones to use in our Music lessons over the next few terms. As you can imagine we have had lots of fun getting used to the instruments and the techniques needed, we are even beginning to get some recognisable tunes! Hopefully you will see or hear us playing during some school events soon!
