Day Five ( and Home !) -
We've left the photo from the top of Snowdon at the top of the page because we think it is probably the weeks biggest challenge and achievement, however click the image to get to a couple of photos from "the gorge" and some photos from Alton Towers - which wasn't a bad place to spend the last day away.
We got back to school just after 11.30pm and even though we had, had a fantastic week away it was great to find everyone waiting and to get home !!
We can start looking forward to the next adventure now !!!!!
Day Four Update
We've found the internet cafe again!! Everone has had a fabulous day - the second group have made a valiant effort and made it to the top of Snowdon, while yesterdays mountaineers spent their day gorging. The weather has held for us, although todays Snowdon group didn't quite enjoy the same views as yesterdays - being inside the clouds put a stop to that !!!
Everyone is very proud of themselves, and looking forward to a quiet evening at the cinema!! (and of course Alton Towers tomorrow!!)
Richard rang at lunch time from the top of Snowdon! the second group have made it up to the top, although they are up in the clouds today, no views like yesterday. Everyone fine, having a fantastic time.
Day Three Update -
We've found an internet cafe (sort of !!!) so here are some photos of our first couple of days. Everyone is having a fantastic and very energetic time and we've had the quietest nights on record.
We've been kayaking, climbing, gorging and some of us made it to the top of Snowdon today - the rest are going tomorrow.
As you can see from the photos everyone is in really high spirits and the children's attitudes to all of the things we've been doing has been amazing to see.
They've all risen to every challenge that has been thrown at them, working brilliantly together and having loads of fun along the way.
We're all very proud of them.
We'll put some more photos on if we get a chance.
See you all on Friday.
Day 3 latest news. Richard rang at lunchtime to say everyone fine. One group ascending Snowdon and one group climbing today and vice versa tomorrow. Weather perfect. All slept well.
Day 2 latest news. Richard has just rung to say everyone is fine and having a great time. Weather dry and warm. His group are climbing. He'll try to put more photos on website tonight.
Day 1
We've arrived safely at the Black Country Museum.
We've had lunch and have just been down the mine in a canal barge. We had a go at walking the barge through the tunnel on the way out.
We're going to have a look around and then we're heading to the Victorian School for a lesson.
More photos later if we get the chance.
At 7.00am on Monday 27th June we'll be off to Snowdonia on our Year Five Residential Trip.
Things like internet connections and mobile phone signals are likely to be a bit challenging but we'll update this web-page if we can.
Failing this we'll keep in touch with school using old fashioned land lines so feel free to ring in and check on our progress.
Tuesday morning: Weather glorious. Everyone slept well and many children had to be woken up. They will try to update website later at an Internet Cafe in Llanberis.
Today, we had a very special assembly. As we had some visitors!! They were really kind and gave class Six (us) a book about secondary school called ‘It’s Your Move’.
I was very grateful and pleased and it gave me some confidence about secondary school. In the book it told me about how other people felt about moving schools and I feel just the same.

Today in assembly two ladies came to give us some prizes and guide books. One of the ladies was called Meg. She was a Methodist Minister at Milton Dameral Chapel. She had come to give us books called “It’s Your Move” .The books were about guiding and helping you through the change from Primary School to Secondary school. There was even some information about guiding you through your new school.
The second lady was called Sheila she came in to give some of the pupils in the school, prizes for doing some drawings related to the stories in the Bible to celebrate the 400th anniversary King Jame’s Bible.
The drawings were judged fairly. The ladies were supposed to give 10 winners a five pound note and a box of mini smarties, but because the ladies said all the drawings were so wonderful they gave 12 out instead. The ladies were very lovely because they made sure that nobody got upset. They gave everybody a consolation prize so the people that didn’t get a special prize didn’t get upset.

At 9.30am the rain was hammering down and it looked like our walk would be off !!!
But we held our nerve and after a delayed start we went up tot he Tamar Lakes and set off and as you can see by the time we stopped for lunch, and more importantly to build a sand motorbike, the sun was out and the day was lovely.
We crossed farmland, went through a wood, followed the new path all the way around the lakes and had lunch by the dam.
Year Six are training for Dartmoor so they had to carry the camping gear, set up camp and filter and boil some water from the lake before thy could eat.
Then we had to go all the way back again.
We walked about six miles but it was worth it because we had a free ice cream on the lawn at the farm when we got back and we're going to raise loads of money.
On Wednesday the 15th of June two tag rugby teams from Bradworthy Academy entered a festival and did extremely well !!!.
The two teams that went were an A team and a B team. In the A team were Douglas, Stanley, Olly, Aiden, Dan, Molly, Ashleigh, Erin and DanI. We all scored about one try maybe even more for some people, And in the B team were Oscar, Linins, Callam , Bertie, Ellie, Shannon, Charlotte, Lucy and Frankie. They all did excellent !!!.
At the start of the morning there were four friendly matches both teams won their first match, the second, the third and the fourth !! So both teams did extremely well.
Then in the afternoon it was the knockout stages !! .….
But first, to decided if you were in the cup or the plate, you would play a match - if you won you would go to the cup and if you lost you would go to the plate.
The B team played a match and won so they were in the cup but the A team’s team didn’t turn up so the A team automatically went into the cup.
Both teams played and won so knocked their oppositions out of the competition then both teams played in a semi-final. Unfortunately the B team came across a very strong team from Appledore and were knocked out of the competition but the A team were still going strong for Bradworthy.
They won their semi-final and that meant they were through to the final!!!.
They came across Hartland A which were a fantastic side and so were Bradworthy because they won the final 7-1 !!!!!
This meant that we won gold in the presentation.
We were very proud of our achievement and hope we do well in future tag rugby events.
