  • Monkleigh & Merton XC

    Wed 31 Jul 2019

Over the past few weeks our Cross Country team have been busy once again, this time taking part in races at Monkleigh School, and the Clinton School in Merton.  Both competitions involved individual races, along with team based competitions.   Our children ran incredibly well across both races, with some fantastic team running performances, and some of the most sensational finishes we have ever seen.  As you can see from the pictures below, many of our children achieved medal positions within their year group races, and in both competitions our Year Five and Six team won the team gold award.

These races bring this year's cross country season to a close, and what a season it has been.  We would like to thank everyone involved for making this one of our most successful seasons ever, and we look forward to getting stuck in again in September.

  • Year Six Leaver's Assembly

    Wed 31 Jul 2019

At the end of July we said a very heartfelt goodbye to our Year Six class. Our Leaver's Assembly was full of prizes, awards, reminiscing and celebrating the achievements of the wonderful children we have spent the last seven years with.  It's pretty fair to say it was an emotional event, but it was wonderful to be able to share it with so many parents and members of the school community.

It goes without saying that we will miss our Leavers. They have been an amazing group of children, who have made us all incredibly proud, and on behalf of everyone in school we wish them the very best of luck as they move into their new schools and new adventures.

  • Dartmoor - July 2019

    Tue 30 Jul 2019

Year Six were out and about on Dartmoor once more.  This time three days on the moor and two nights camping.  First stop was checking all the correct equipment was loaded onto the minibus and then off to get the food that was needed.  Two evening meals, two breakfasts and a lunch were all needed to be prepared and cooked on the moor whilst camping.

First thing on the moor was to set up camp and have lunch, after which a 7 mile navigational challenge was completed, comprising of walking in groups and having to check in at three different checkpoints.  Once completed it was back off to camp for the evening meal and a play in the river!  The following day , after breakfast , a small walk of 19 miles over some very tricky terrain at times, was successfully completed by some very tired and weary people ( mainly the adults!).

On the final day the minibus was loaded and moved and a small 4 mile trek to find it, in some not very nice conditions.  Overall a total of an impressive 30 miles completed matching the school record of last year, but no, that wouldn't cut it, so after walking round the minibus 10 times, a new school record was set!

  • Bradworthy's Got Talent!

    Mon 29 Jul 2019

We were treated to another day filled with amazing acts in our annual Bradworthy's Got Talent competition in July. We had another bumper year of entries, and this year there was a wonderful variety in the acts from rock bands, to magic tricks, comedians, dancers, gymnasts and many many more. After collecting the votes we were able to announce the results during our leaver's assembly, and we were treated to another performance from our Year Six band, singing The Chain.

  • Sports Day 2019

    Thu 11 Jul 2019

This year we enjoyed our Sports Day(s) in early July, and we were blessed with wonderful weather helping the days to go along smoothly!  Our Key Stage One children enjoyed a very busy morning taking part in a range of PE activities and races, with each activity gathering points for our four house teams.  Our younger children threw themselves into their Sports Day brilliantly, and paved the way for our Key Stage Two children to start their activities that afternoon.  The KS2 Sports Day started with team competitions for Netball, Hockey, Football and Rugby, with the finals of these competitions taking place on the morning of the second day of sports.  Following these activities the athletics competition started, with children taking part in races, jumping and throwing events throughout the afternoon.

After two very busy days we were very proud of all of the children, and pleased to award the Puffins team with this year's Sports Day Trophy after a very closely fought competition!
