Our most extreme sporting challenge got even harder this year when we formed a 25 mile team for the first time ever.
This involved walking a 25 mile course on Dartmoor over two days and a nights camping.
As you can see it also involved a session of "gorging" in the river beside the campsite.
Once back in school the successful children were rewarded with medals at our Leaver's Assembly - and it's got to be said that they'll probably never work so hard for a tiny gold disc ever again.
We think that this event is yet another example of the amazing things that children can achieve if they are given a chance and it goes without saying that we are incredibly proud of them all.
Bradworthy's Got Talent - 2014.
Our end of term talent show, held for the first time ever in our new school hall, once again proved that Bradworthy does indeed have plenty of talent.
The acts included singing, dancing, magic, a comedy act and lots of talented musicians - playing violins, guitars, brass instruments, drums and ukuleles.
This winners of this year's vote were an amazing group of Hoola - Hooping Dancers.
The photograph shows them performing their act again just after the result was announced at our Leaver's Assembly at the end of term.
Our Year Six children have been working incredibly hard all year so it seemed only fair that we take them over to the Milky Way at the end of term for a treat. | |
Congratulations to Robins who won this year's School Sports Day.
This year's events took place over two days in July and involved children from Reception all the way up to Year Six.
As well as traditional events, such as the "egg and spoon" race, we had a full program of athletics with races from 50m all the way up to 2000m, which was run on a course which went out in to the village, as well as hurdles and relays.
Our athletics also involved long and high jump competitions and the throwing events; discus, javelin and shot put.
Team events included rugby, football, netball, hockey and a mixed doubles tennis competition.
As you can see from our web-site sport is a huge part of life at Bradworthy and it's fantastic that all of the children get involved at this time of the year to celebrate this.
Our Ukulele Group took advantage of an invitation to go over to Appledore to play in Sandy Brown's Gallery near the end of term.
Ukulele's re a really accessible instrument and are played in school by dozens of children who have a brilliant time getting involved in music.
We think that this is a great way of getting in to music and performing - although it still takes a lot of hard work to get as good as the children in our band are.
