What an Amazing Week !!!
Year Six, and the rest of Key Stage 2, have been working incredibly hard, and with incredible levels of motivation, for the last month; we've also been in isolation for three weeks to try and make sure that covid didn't stop us performing .....
..... and we made it !!!
Three exceptional performances to audiences, which we limited to 120 per show, provided an experience that our children will remember forever.
We don't have the words to say how proud we are of all of our children.
The children's attitude and desire to put on the best production possible has been truly inspiring and something that we are privilaged to have been a part of.
This has been an amazing team effort with every child in Key Stage 2, and every member of staff, pulling together to put on our show.
We are intending to put a video of the show on YouTube over the Christmas break so that we can all enjoy the experience again.
Thank you to Mark Harris who took all of these photos.

We think that it is very important to think about the Christmas message and that’s why the whole school went down to our village square for a Christmas concert beside the village Christmas tree.
We were joined by our vicar, Richard, and over 100 parents and people from the village and we had a very special 40 minutes together.
Our band played all of the music and everyone sang Christmas songs.
Halfway through Sir got a phone call from Santa who said that he couldn’t get the raindeers to wake up.
It was a Christmas emergency because no raindeers means no sleigh and no Christmas deliveries!
We all sang Rudolph the Red Nosed Raindeer as loud as we could and the sound travelled all the way to the North Pole and woke them up.
Christmas was saved!!!
We all had a great time and would like to wish you a very happy Christmas.
We think that it is really iportant that our children develop things like good manners and we regularly get compliments from the general public when we are out-and-about - which we often are.
I'd like to share this email which was sent by someone who "came across us" when we were having lunch in McDonald's last week after a sports event:
"I encountered a group of children from your school in McDonald's, Bideford, at lunchtime yesterday accompanied by some of your staff.
It was just wonderful, with what's going on in the world today, to see a group of children so well behaved, not shouting and showing off, all dressed immaculately, not a mobile phone between them and they simply sat down without arguing between themselves and waited patiently for their food. They were actually communicating with each other. Even a member of staff from McDonald's commented what a pleasure it was to see a group of children so well behaved.
They were a credit to you, your staff and your school and you should be so proud of the image they portrayed of your Academy."
Race three of the season took place today (Sunday 12th December) and although we haven’t got all the results yet it was another great team performance.
Well done Toby (Year 6) who has now won three out of three races in the under 11 boys category, and George (Year 4) who has won two out of three races for our under 9 boys’ team.
We’ll post team results as soo as we’ve got them.
These photos are from our last rehearsal before we perform next week.
It was a full performance - the only things missing were our costumes and makeup.
We’ll be performing our musical, Shirley Holmes and the Strange Case of the Zombie Apocalypse, four times next week on Monday and Tuesday afternoons and on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
We’ve worked really hard for the last few weeks and now we’re really excited - and a tiny bit nervous as well !!!
Christmas Dinner was brilliant thanks to kitchen team.
Thank you Lorraine, Tara, Robina and Jean.
As well as a fantastic dinner there was Christmas music, crackers, balloons and party poppers.
When we had finished we had another party - that’s two this week !!!
We had an amazing Christmas Party this week - all thanks to our brilliant PTA
We had party food, Christmas music and games in our classes, and then a fantastic magic show in the afternoon.
Magic Martin was really cool.
He even blew a bubble and turned it into a lollipop right in front of our eyes !!!
