As part of our topic work based on Tudor Life, Class Five visited the Tudor Gildhouse at Poundstock.
We had a fantastic day, baking bread, making ginger beer and finding out about Tudor Buildings.
During the afternoon we were able to dress up as rich Tudors, and learn some Tudor Dances. We all had lots of fun, and would like to thank the wonderful volunteers at Poundstock for looking after us so well!
Year Six have recently been out on the rugged terrain of Dartmoor for their ' taster ' walk , leading into our Summer ' Ten Tor ' Walks. The first group had a very warm and bright sunny day to contend with, and completed a very impressive 10 mile walk . The second group had a completely contrasted walk , being very wet and windy , but despite this they kept their spirits high and also completed an equally impressive 10 mile walk and were at one point in the clouds!
An impressive start by both groups in differing conditions , and a huge Well Done to them all. We hope we see them all continue on when we restart ' training ' in the Spring Term.
The children in Year One have recently started their science work. This term they are studying the human body in their science lessons. To get their brains going the children began by thinking about human bodies and naming as many parts of them as they could. Then they enjoyed drawing a chalk picture of themselves on the playground and labelling them. Class One have also learnt a new song called 'I have a body', maybe the children can sing it to you at home?!
Class One recently had their first Beach School session.
We had lots of fun playing games on the beach and went on a beach treasure hunt to see what we could find! As you can see, everyone enjoyed being out on the beach and we can't wait for our next session!
