Our annual Leaver's Assembly was another emotional event and the perfect way to end another school year by celebrating and rewarding the children's efforts throughout the year.
It was an opportunity to give awards to children across the school and not just to our Year Six children who are leaving us for secondary school.
These are the main awards:
House Cup Winners - Herons.
Sporting Achievement: Josh and Marie.
Sporting Effort: Immy and Brendan.
Creativity: Immy and Peter.
Cookery: Rachel and Ross.
Academic Achievement: Cara and Eddie.
Academic Effort: Kira and Ross.
On behalf of everyone at Bradworthy Academy I'd like to thank all of the children for their effort and attitude over many years. It has been a great privilege to work with them and I know that we are all very proud of everything they have achieved.
We'd like to wish them all the greatest of success for the future.
Once again we've proved that Bradworthy has loads and loads of talent !!!
Twenty acts took to the stage, performing in front of the school and a packed audience of parents.
Voting was very close this year with the results being read out in our Leaver's Assembly.
This years winners were "Here Comes the Sun" which featured a vocal duo, guitar, bass and drums, performing their own arrangement of this classic song.
We spent the evening of the last day of term in Memorial Hall at our first ever "Annual Leaver's Disco".
It was a great way to finish off the school year.
Construction of our new Pre-School building is underway.
Pre-School is moving in to a new purpose built timber frame building as a result of our successful bid for funds to build a new school hall.
The existing room was in increasingly poor repair and the space was needed for our hall.
The building is flying up and will be ready for the new term in September which is just as well considering the chaos we've currently got inside school !
Demolition and construction of the hall will begin this week.
If you want to see some more photos and the latest drawings of the finished Pre-School go to "About" on the top menu bar and click "School Grounds".
Congratulations to Robins who were this years winners.
If was a full day of competition team events in sports like football, netball, hockey and rugby in the morning as well as a full "Olympic" programme of athletic events in the afternoon.
Our younger children took part in a Bokwa session, a carousel of skills based activities and traditional races.
We were really proud of the way in which all of the children competed and the sporting attitude that they showed when winning and loosing.
Thank you to the large number of parents who joined us for a great day of sport.
After a year of hard work in Class ( amongst lots of other things !!! ) our Year Six children thoroughly deserved their end of year trip to The Milky Way Theme Park.
Thank you to our PTA for organising another amazing end of year Summer BBQ this July.
As well as the BBQ and bar there were bouncy castles and games.
All of the entertainment, which was excellent, was provided by current and ex-pupils.
The event was opened by our Brass Band, who were there usual brilliant selves, and this was followed by a gymnastics display which featured over sixty children.
This was followed by our current Year Five / Six Rock Group and finally a set by last year's group who are now at the end of Year Seven.
We all had an amazing time - until the rain came !!!
Year Six have been learning to Sail.
This term we've been going up to The Tamar Lakes each Thursday after school for lessons and as you can see they've been going really well.
Year 1 went to their last Forest School session with Mark and Dom at Tamar Lakes.
We've all enjoyed it so much!
The children are looking forward to seeing them next year when they're in Year 2.
