We took fourteen teams and over fifty children over to Falcons Gymnastics Academy this Saturday to take part in the annual North Devon Championships.
The children had an amazing time taking part in novice and intermediate competitions.

Under Nine Individual Boys' Bronze Medal - Ethan (Year Four)

Under Eleven Boys' Team - Gold Medal
Under Nine Mixed team - Silver Medal
Under Seven Mixed Team - Bronze Medal

The intermediate competition is for more experienced gymnasts who train for over an hour each week.

Musical Interpretation Gold Medal - Scarlet (Year Four)
Under Eleven Boy's Bronze Medal - Peter (Year Six)

Under Seven Mixed Team - Bronze Medal
Under Eleven Mixed Team - Bronze Medal
Under Eleven Girls' Team - Bronze Medal

  • Year Six at Rosemoor

    Thu 07 Mar 2013
We are about to undertake two exciting projects so we went over to Rosemoor Gardens to get some inspiration.

We're very excited because we've been asked to produce some sculpture which will be permanently on display in "The Brash" at Rosemoor. We want to do a really great job so we decided that we needed to look at "The Brash" and the places where the sculptures are going to be set up before we did anything else.

In school we are going to work to make the area at the back of the football pitch a much nicer place to spend our time. We've already got a climbing boulder and a "Withy Dome" but most of the time the ground is too wet to get to these things and there isn't even anywhere to sit down. We want to make some improvements.
We needed some ideas and the trip to Rosemoor gave us loads.
  • Cycle Racing

    Wed 06 Mar 2013
There aren't many sports that we haven't had a go at over the years but this was a new one.
We went over to Bideford to take part in the "Go Ride" cycling competition this March.
We won several races and overall our team finished in third place but most importantly everyone had a great time - maybe we should buy some bikes !!!
  • Castle Museum - Bude

    Tue 05 Mar 2013
Class 4 spent the afternoon at the Bude Heritage Centre. The aim was to  look at the different ways to present arte-facts and information from the past. The museum used a number of different ways including film, audio interactive activities as well as arte-facts and writing.  We are going to use what we have learnt in our own class museum.
  • New Library

    Mon 04 Mar 2013
We are developing a new library area and this means making full use of slave labour !!!
Year Six children are fully involved in this exciting new project - as you can see from the old clothes and paint brushes !!
  • Devon Hockey Finals

    Sun 03 Mar 2013
Our hockey team have qualified for the Devon Finals which will be played in Exeter at the end of March.
  • Gymnastics Champions

    Sat 02 Mar 2013

Last weekend we took twenty children to Exeter, to compete in the Devon Schools’ Floor and Vault competition. Despite there being many schools Bradworthy proved to be a strong team with medals all around.

We won gold in the girls under 11 and girls under 9 competitions and silver in the under 11 mixed event.

Individual gymnasts Cara and Cerys won bronze in their categories.

This achievement reflects the commitment that we have towards gymnastics and many other sports. We believe that all children should have access to a wide range of sports so that pupils develop fully and this is why the school currently benefits from the work of three gymnastic coaches who do such a great job helping the children develop.
