• Lion, Witch and Wardrobe

  We had a brilliant time this October when the M & M Theate Company visited to perform The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to the whole school. After the performance our Year Five children took part in a workshop which was about all of the things that are part of the production. Things like how the actors get ready, how the set works, music, stage lights and other technical equipment like microphones.

  

• Rugby World Cup

  The children have been randomly split into the twenty teams that are involved in the real event and we all had a great time this week when we started playing the group stages. In total we’ll be playing over forty games in the coming weeks and are intending to play the final just before the half term break.

  

• Class 4 - Julian's Farm

  We had a great morning investigating a section of the River Torridge at Julian's Farm. Everyone thought it was great when Mr "bear grills" Lapham climbed a tree to get to the opposite river bank to enable him to measure the width of the river.

  

• Drama and Textiles

  Our new weekly drama club is becoming very popular. Each week we play a range of games designed to fire the children's imaginations and improve their speaking and listening skills. The photos show the children using their imaginations to make a simple scarf become whatever they wanted, from an ice-cream or pillow, to a light-sabre or yoyo. The children all have lots of fun, especially when they 'go bananas' at the end.
