  • Year Five Residential Day Four

Thu 22 Jun 2023 Elliot Lewis

    Good morning everybody!

We are all excited and geared up, packed to the nines in our bags ready to attack the mountain today. The weather is looking good, a sprinkle of rain forecast later on in the day but the team are well equipped to tackle it if it comes.

The children are about to embark on a huge challenge today, we are very proud of how they have held themselves this week and are sure today is going to be a great success.

    Good evening everybody!

We are down the mountain after an absolutely phenomenal day. It started off well with the weather, then my earlier optimism about the rain was squashed as we all got completely plummeted on!

Photos were few and far between as the children really did have to battle some extreme wet.

The children split off into smaller groups with one adult and an instructor each, some making their way to the top and others having wonderful experiences in different areas of the mountain, enjoying the lakes and different paths and such.

Just about to have tea now then make our way to the cinema.

You should all be hugely proud of your wonderful children for what they have achieved today, we are really delighted for them and the incredible effort they have put in.

Wed 21 Jun 2023 Elliot Lewis

    Hello everybody!

Just about to get started at paintball, everybody had a terrific day doing their various activities, the weather here I must say has been phenomenal so far, hoping that continues for our Mountain climb tomorrow!

  • Year 5 Residential Day Three

Wed 21 Jun 2023 Elliot Lewis

    Good morning folks!

After a hearty breakfast the children have set off in separate directions to the one they went yesterday, gorge-walking or Kayaking and Climbing.

Everybody slept well and got off to sleep at a very reasonable time I am very pleased to say, attention has already turned to tonight's activity of paintball, a lot of tactical discussion amongst the children is taking place which has filled the staff with dread!

Have a great day and keep an eye out for pictures which I will share whenever possible.

  • Year 5 Residential Day Two Evening

Tue 20 Jun 2023 Elliot Lewis

    Good evening everybody.

We have just returned from a fantastic evening at the local Clip and Climb centre. Lots of fun was had doing a mixture of on the wall climbing and what's known as Crazy Climb, different challenges to do with jumping, types of things to climb, scores to beat and times to best.

As you can see on the earlier post the children had an excellent day beforehand, all have packed their bags ready for more fun tomorrow and are settling into bed now.

Mon 19 Jun 2023 Elliot Lewis

Hello all apologies for the slow update.

Tea was fantastic lots of pizza, mac and cheese and puddings very well received, the children have unloaded their cases and heading down for an end of evening activity before setting off to bed. Will update everybody at breakfast!

  • Year 5 residential day one

Mon 19 Jun 2023 Elliot Lewis

    Morning folks,

We have just arrived at the Black Country Museum, a very successful journey with no trouble from traffic or weather.

All very excited, toileting now then off to explore! Will add photos as and when I get the chance.

Afternoon everyone, we left the Black Country Museum around 4pm, heading toward Wales and the Youth Hostel now, looking to arrive for around 7pm.

A great time was had at the Museum, the children learned about all the jobs they would've been doing if they were born in that time, including shifting boats in tunnels, making nails in the blacksmiths and many more.

I will try my best throughout the week to keep everybody updated via the website, I'm previous years signal has bee  non-existent at the Hostel so I will be relying on the cloud to share with you all as often as I can.

  • North Devon Cricket Finals

Thu 15 Jun 2023 Elliot Lewis

On the 14th of June myself and Amanda took 8 boys from years 5 and 6 to the North Devon Cricket Finals at the North Devon Cricket Club.

A total of 25 teams attended, with each school playing 4 games each.

Games were played with each batting side facing 40 balls, 10 balls per pair, we had a very successful day winning all four of our games.

    Our results were as followed:

    Bradworthy 121-54 Bishops Nympton

    Bradworthy 77-70 Yeo Valley

    Bradworthy 95-48 Winkleigh

    Bradworthy 71-49 Pilton Bluecoats

Despite winning our 4 games, we missed out on a top 2 spot which would of qualified us for the Devon finals, we missed out by 95 runs which was a shame.

I was really pleased with how the boys held themselves on an incredibly hot Instow Cricket ground, the sun was intense but they were exemplary on and off the cricket pitch, a real credit to themselves and the school and a pleasure to spend the day with.

  • Penzance Residential Day Three

    Fri 09 Jun 2023 Becki

    Hello everyone,

We are now safely home from our trip and hopefully everyone is enjoying a restful evening.
We have uploaded lots of photos from today, so please have a look at our adventures!

Over the course of the trip we have been blown away by the effort, attitude and amazing enthusiasm that the children have shown - they have been phenomenal ambassadors for our community and it goes without saying that we are incredibly proud of them.

Finally I need to say an enormous thank you to Imogen, Chelsea, Sarah, Caroline and Elliot for so willingly giving up their time and endless support so that this trip could take place. We are incredibly lucky to have such keen and willing staff, and I am hugely grateful to everyone!

    Have an amazing weekend,

    Hi everyone,

We are currently having an amazing day at Camel Creek, after a really good nights sleep and a huge breakfast.  We broke the school record for packing and leaving the hostel, which means more time for adventures!

As you can see the children are enjoying all of the rides and activities - hopefully they will sleep well tonight!
We will keep photos updated through the day wherever we can! See you at 6pm!

Evening folks, heading back now, just travelled past the Cornwall Show with minimal trouble. Expected to be back on time for 6pm.

    See you soon!

  • Year Three Residential Day Two

    Thu 08 Jun 2023 Becki

    Hello again everyone!
We have had a very busy afternoon and evening and everyone is now safely tucked up in bed recharging before tomorrow’s adventures.
After dinner this evening we ventured to Truro for Ten Pin Bowling.  The children were amazing this evening, and threw themselves into the activity whole heartedly. Unfortunately for Mrs Turner this means she was beaten by almost every child in the class, and will be buying the ice creams tomorrow!
We finished our evening celebrating our birthday girl - much to Isabelle’s annoyance!

We will aim to check in tomorrow during the day - signal allowing - and will keep our arrival time updated if it is going to be too much later than 6pm.

    See you tomorrow!

    Mrs T x

We have finished our adventures at Pendennis Castle, and we are now enjoying some fun at the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth.  After exploring the main parts of Pendennis Castle we enjoyed an exploration session where we were able to investigate equipment and clothing which would have been used in the castle in different periods of time.  Everyone enjoyed asking and answering questions - and some children clearly enjoyed dressing up!

The children have received endless compliments for their behaviour, manners and amazing enthusiasm, and we are all incredibly proud of them! We have some pictures to upload from the castle, but many more to follow later on!

    Mrs T x

We are safely at Pendennis Castle, and enjoying some exploration time before we head to the classroom for some activities.
As you can see it is pretty windy here - we did brush everyone’s hair this morning - promise!!

    Hello everyone!
We are wide awake and raring to go this morning! Everyone slept really well, and we had the pleasure of waking up lots of the children this morning!
We have enjoyed a really good breakfast, and will be heading off to Falmouth very soon!

Keep an eye on this page and we will update with photos whenever we can!
